Speaking on his YouTube channel, Alasdair Gold has been speaking about Tottenham’s plans during this World Cup break.
With no Premier League football scheduled for the next month, clubs have to find a way to keep themselves occupied.
Whether that’s behind-closed-doors friendlies, mini tournaments or warm weather training abroad, Premier League clubs need to fill their time during this gap.
So, what are Spurs planning? Well, according to Gold, Tottenham are in for a boring few weeks as their plan is to stay at Hotspur Way.
However, Antonio Conte wanted the club to go on a trip abroad, but that isn’t going to happen now as Spurs left it too late to book any training facilities that are up to scratch.

Gold shared Spurs’ plans during this break.
“They’re staying at Hotspur Way unless something changes in the next couple of weeks,” Gold said.
“The players who are staying are being given a bit of time off to rest and go on holiday. Conte wanted them to go away, but it was all done a little bit too late, and it didn’t become a viable option because they need to find a training ground as good as Hotspur Way, which is difficult.”
“To find something of a similar standard, those places were booked up a while ago and that’s part of the issue for Spurs, so they’ll be working at Hotspur Way.”
Better preparation
If Antonio Conte wanted his team to go on a trip during this time, then this should’ve been prepared months ago.
The World Cup hasn’t exactly snook up on anyone. We’ve known for years that this tournament was going to be held at this time, so why weren’t Spurs ready to book the right training centres?
As the old adage goes, failing to prepare is preparing to fail, and the fact that the manager’s wishes aren’t being granted here may well speak to more underlying issues at the club right now.
