Speaking on the Baggies Broadcast podcast, Joe Masi has shared West Brom’s chances of signing Joshua King this month, and it’s bad news for Baggies fans.

West Brom are reportedly in the market for a striker this month, with the likes of King and Cenk Tosun already linked, but it seems as though those deals are going to be tough to do.

Steve Madeley has already claimed that a deal for Tosun would be tough to do financially, and Masi has shared a similar sentiment when it comes to a deal for King.

“Everyone knows that Albion haven’t got a lot of money to spend this window, everyone has probably got a figure in their head that Josh King would be available for, and it’s probably more than what Albion have got to spend, well it’s highly, highly likely,” Masi said.

“But if Bournemouth turn round and go ‘oh you can have him’, and if Bournemouth are wanting to get rid and willing to do a deal, Albion would be interested in Josh King.

“If Albion put all of their eggs in the Josh King basket, or spent the last 10 or 11 days putting all of their eggs in the Josh King basket, then they’re going to end up with egg on their face, because there’s a very realistic chance they’re not going to sign him.”

Unfortunately, it seems as though West Brom won’t be signing King this month.

The 51-time Norway international would have been a great signing for West Brom, but it now seems as though a deal would prove too expensive.

West Brom’s Midlands rivals Wolves are also in for him, and one journalist who covers Wolves claimed that King would cost around £10 million, which would seemingly be a bit too much for the Baggies.

However, as always, we can’t write anything off in the transfer window, and with King’s contract up in the summer, there’s every chance that Bournemouth lower their asking price as the window ticks towards deadline day.
