After last night’s 2-0 win over Villarreal at Anfield, life has become even better for Liverpool fans as some exciting news about Jürgen Klopp emerges.
According to The Times, Liverpool are stepping up contract talks with the German, after receiving encouragement that he’d be open to staying.
In fact, The Athletic are now reporting that Klopp has signed a new contract until 2026, although we await official confirmation from the Reds.
Interestingly, Sky Sports have added some intriguing details to the story.
What’s the story?
Well, Melissa Reddy – a journalist with close ties to Liverpool – believes it is now apparent to those at Anfield that Klopp is swaying towards extending his contract.
Those inside Liverpool believe the 54-year-old is interested in managing ‘the evolutions to come’ at Anfield, which doesn’t surprise us in the slightest.
Klopp has built something truly special at Anfield, and the most exciting thing about Liverpool’s current success is that it still feels like the Reds could go up a gear.

Clearly, the former Borussia Dortmund tactician is aware of this, and doesn’t want to miss out on reaping what he has already sown.
Mike Gordon – President of Fenway Sports Group (FSG) – is the man in charge of discussions with Klopp, and has a very strong relationship with the German.
According to Reddy, he even stays at Klopp’s house when visiting Merseyside, and drew up the terms of his last contract extension after a casual chat with the Liverpool boss.
Interestingly, Klopp has allegedly told Gordon that he can imagine himself staying at Liverpool for the remainder of his managerial career.
Whatever happens, Jürgen Klopp is a Liverpool legend
Whatever happens, Klopp will go down in history as one of the greatest in Liverpool’s entire history.
Amazingly, the Stuttgart-born coach has won 232 of his 371 games in charge of the Reds, losing just 62.
Klopp has also averaged 2.08 points per game, watching his side score 822 goals along the way while conceding just 405.

That is an astonishing record, to say the least.
Klopp has also lifted the Premier League, Champions League, Super Cup, Club World Cup and also the Carabao Cup.
In our view, if he has committed his long-term future to Liverpool, then he will probably need to buy himself a bigger trophy cabinet.
