Arsenal are enjoying an outstanding season and are pushing for a first Premier League title since 2004.

Should the Gunners succeed in their mission, it could open up a world of opportunities transfer-wise.

The very best players in the world could well be interested in a move to the Emirates Stadium.

As luck would have it, one of the best strikers in world football could be available in the summer.

Dusan Vlahovic was one of the most highly sought-after forwards in the world when he was at Fiorentina.

Indeed, Arsenal were being linked with him in the same window Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left.

In the end, Vlahovic ended up joining Juventus for a reported £67million.

However, neither player nor club are having a particularly good season.

Vlahovic has registered 11 goals from 29 outings. It’s a decent tally but nowhere near what he’s capable of.

Meanwhile, Juve are seventh in Serie A following their 15-point deduction.

Given their difficult fight to get into the Champions League, Vlahovic may well look to up sticks in summer.

And with Arsenal looking likely to make the competition, they could be increasingly attractive for top players.

Pete O’Rourke, speaking to GiveMeSport, reckons the 23-year-old may well fancy a move to the Emirates.

The journalist said: “Vlahovic was a big target for Arsenal prior to his move to Juventus.

” They’ve been keeping tabs on his situation and a number nine is a position that Arteta would like to strengthen for next season as well.

“I’m sure Vlahovic would definitely be interested in a move to Arsenal, especially if they win the Premier League and are playing in the Champions League next season as well.”

Our view

Vlahovic is, in Igor Tudor’s words, “one of the best in the world”, and he has proven this is the case.

However, he reportedly rejected Arsenal when they were in dire need of a new striker in January 2022.

Now, the Gunners could well decide they don’t need Vlahovic now.

Mikel Arteta has Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, Eddie Nketiah, Leandro Trossard as centre-forward options.

In addition, Folarin Balogun will be back from his Reims loan in the summer.

Admittedly, Vlahovic is a world-class striker, very much on par with Jesus.

So we’ll see what happens when the transfer window reopens.
