Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, journalist and Wolves fan Lynsey Hooper has shared what Wolves have been working on in training behind the scenes.
The Midlands club have enjoyed quite a decent season so far, but one area in which they have struggled is finding the back of the net.
Wolves have one of the best defensive records in the league, but they’re averaging just one goal per game, and when you’re scoring at that rate, it’s almost impossible to climb the table.
Fortunately, according to Hooper, Wolves have been putting extra emphasis on practising their shooting in training.
What’s been said?
Hooper shared what she knows about Wolves training.
“Those are the games I just don’t have any faith in. Listening to the manager afterwards, you can tell he’s exasperated with the striking power that Wolves lack at the minute. He’s doing all he can in training, and I do get some reports from behind the scenes, they are doing everything they can to work on shooting and to score more goals, but on a matchday, it just doesn’t translate,” Hooper said.

Sign a new striker
Unfortunately for Bruno Lage, training a player’s shooting is only going to get you so far.
So often you hear ex-players and pundits speak about a striker’s ‘natural instincts’ up front, and that’s what Wolves seem to be lacking.
Whether it’s Fabio Silva, Francisco Trincao or Daniel Podence, Wolves’ attackers just seem to lack that cutting edge in front of goal, and sadly, the only way to solve these problems may be to sign a new striker.
Wolves need a proven goalscorer who will be composed in front of goal, and that has to be their top priority heading into this summer transfer window.
