Speaking on the Talking Transfers Podcast, Graeme Bailey has been discussing the interest being shown in Marcus Thuram from within the Premier League.

The French forward has been shining over in Germany for quite some time now, and as he enters the final months of his contract, the Borussia Monchengladbach attacker is being eyed by some English clubs, including Everton and Wolves.

Thuram is admired

Bailey shared what he knows about Thuram’s situation.

“Yeah, Palace, Leicester, Everton, Fulham and Wolves. He’s doing very well this season and he’s a player that a lot of Premier League clubs have kept a close eye on, but he’s doing a good job in the Bundesliga now. He’s available on a Bosman in January, he’s 25, he’d just be a very useful signing for a lot of teams, he’s a typical modern forward and he could move in January. Gladbach won’t be asking for a lot, so his name will come up in January,” Bailey said.

Useful signing

As Bailey says, this would be a very useful signing for any of these teams, and who knows? Perhaps Thuram could be a star in the Premier League.

He certainly has a top-class pedigree – he is the son of a World Cup winner after all, while his ability to play anywhere across the front three makes him a great rotation option for almost any team.

If Thuram can be signed on the cheap, Premier League clubs should be all over this.

As for the specific teams that want him, we can’t help but feel that Everton or Wolves would be the biggest beneficiaries of this signing due to their lack of attacking depth right now.
