Speaking on his YouTube channel, Alasdair Gold has been discussing Will Lankshear as he continues to make waves in the Tottenham youth teams.

Lankshear netted a hat-trick for the Spurs U18s at the weekend, and that has led to plenty of discussion about this young man.

Many now know of his talents by now, but Gold delved into the teenager’s personal life a little bit more, sharing the fact that the young striker is actually a Tottenham Hotspur fan, stating that half of his family actually support Arsenal.

Lankshear supports Spurs

Gold shared what he knows about the striker.

“Spurs have these emerging talent scouts, and those scouts all pushed for Will Lankshear to be brought in, they felt he was one of the most talented ones at that level,” Gold said.

“Sheffield United had a professional deal ready for him, but Brentford and Spurs were both in for him, and he’s a Spurs fan. He comes from a family that is split with Arsenal and Spurs fans, but he’s a Spurs fan, so as soon as Spurs became interested it was a one-way path of where he wants to go.”

Awkward

Lankshear looks like he could end up being a real star for Spurs, and that may make things slightly awkward for his family.

Many of the striker’s relatives support Arsenal, and if Lankshear ends up scoring in a north London derby one day, there will certainly be a few mixed emotions.

Of course, we’ve seen Arsenal fans playing for Spurs and Spurs fans playing for Arsenal before without much issue, but it is always an interesting dynamic when a situation like this arises.
