Speaking on his YouTube channel, Alasdair Gold has been discussing Tottenham and their interest in Djed Spence.
The Middlesbrough wing-back has long been touted as one of Spurs’ top targets this summer, but, for some reason, there hasn’t been any actual progress on this front for quite some time.
Indeed, while a bid has been anticipated for some time, Gold says that no offer has gone in as of yet. However, the journalist does say that there is a growing expectation from Boro that the defender will end up at Tottenham.
What’s been said?
Gold spoke about Spence and his future.
“It’s a weird one with Djed Spence, in terms of actual progress in terms of a bid and everything, there’s not, but there’s a growing expectation, especially on the Boro side, that the move is going to happen. The player appears to favour Spurs, which is fantastic. Spurs want Spence, there’s no two ways about it, Paratici has watched him live as well,” Gold said.

Matter of time
We’ve been saying it for weeks, but it seems as though it’s just a matter of time before Spence becomes a Tottenham player.
Spurs are very keen, the player wants the move and he won’t cost too much.
Spence is reportedly valued at just £15m, and if Spurs are serious about wanting him, that asking price shouldn’t be too much of a hurdle at all.
Boro are expecting the player to join Tottenham, and it shouldn’t be too long before a deal is struck.
