Speaking on The Football Terrace YouTube channel, Dean Jones has shared what he knows about Antonio Rudiger’s situation and the ongoing links to Tottenham.

The German centre-half is out of contract in the summer, and it was reported on The Transfer Window Podcast over the weekend that the defender has turned down Chelsea’s latest contract offer.

It looks as though Rudiger could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge, and Jones now claims that Tottenham have made a very good offer to the 28-year-old. However, due to interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, he doesn’t think that Rudiger will end up in north London.

What’s Jones said about Rudiger?

The journalist shared the information he has on the defender.

“I don’t think he(Rudiger) is desperate to stay in England, but equally I don’t think he considers himself so loyal to Chelsea that he couldn’t consider that. Tottenham are in for him as well. I don’t think they will get him, but they have made a very good offer, obviously there is Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and PSG too,” Jones said.

Tough decision

Rudiger faces a tough decision in the summer.

A move to Tottenham would make sense on so many levels. He’d be able to stay in London where he’s seemingly settled and he’d be reuniting with a manager he knows very well in the shape of Antonio Conte.

However, a move to PSG, Bayern or Real Madrid would likely give him greater chances of winning major silverware at domestic and European level.

It’s a tough decision, but to be honest, it’s a brilliant position to be in as a player.
