Speaking on his YouTube channel, Express journalist Ryan Taylor has been speaking about Mohamed Camara amid interest from the Premier League.

Leeds United and Brighton have both been strongly linked with the midfielder in recent weeks, and according to a tweet from Taylor earlier this week, the Malian has been left out of RB Salzburg’s training camp squad so he can finalise a move away from Austria.

The journalist now states that Camara’s head has been turned by the interest being shown in him from England, while Leeds have been in direct contact with the 22-year-old.

What’s been said?

Taylor spoke about Camara.

“Just moving on to Leeds. I reported earlier this week that RB Salzburg had excused Mohamed Camara from their training camp so he can prioritise making a decision on his future. His head has been turned by the Premier League interest that has been bubbling in the background,” Taylor said.

“As I understand it, I don’t believe there’s anything concrete at the moment, Leeds have been in direct contact with his representatives to declare their interest in a move, but they’re juggling other targets as well.”

Hotting up

It looks like the transfer race for Camara’s signature is hotting up.

As Taylor says, there’s nothing concrete in place yet, but with both Brighton and Leeds keen, it seems as though it may not be long before bids begin to be lodged.

Both teams are in need of a new midfielder. Yves Bissouma has joined Tottenham, while Kalvin Phillips looks set for Manchester City, and there’s reason to believe that Camara could be a competent replacement for either player.

The midfielder seems to have his heart set on a move to England, and there’s a fair chance he could end up at Elland Road or the Amex this summer.
