Speaking on The Done Deal Show, Dean Jones has shared some doubts that people within Arsenal have shared about Dusan Vlahovic.
The Serbian striker has long been touted as Arsenal’s top target this month, but now, it seems as though he’s going to join Juventus.
However, contrary to other reports, Jones is led to believe that some people at Arsenal weren’t entirely sold on Vlahovic.
Indeed, the journalist claims that there has always been a feeling around the Gunners that Dominic Calvert-Lewin or Alexander Isak would be a better fit in Arteta’s system.
What’s Jones said about Vlahovic?
The journalist shared the Gunners’ doubts about Vlahovic, claiming that they believe Isak or Calvert-Lewin would be better.
“No, I don’t think Arsenal ever really thought they would get him, but they gave it a go. From what I was told by people around Arsenal anyway, a lot of people feel that Vlahovic isn’t a good fit for Arsenal, he’s not the type of player who will thrive in the system that Arteta would be building. There’s always been a thought that Isak or Calvert-Lewin would be better for what Arsenal are building towards, but we’ll find out now because they’ll have to go down a different path anyway,” Jones said.

Calvert-Lewin the answer
People within Arsenal believe that Calvert-Lewin would be better for them than Vlahovic, and they may not be wrong.
The 24-year-old is proven at Premier League level and he already has something of a relationship with the likes of Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka through their England connection.
Calvert-Lewin looks like he could be the dream signing for Arsenal, and if they can get him, it won’t be long until the Gunners have forgotten all about Vlahovic.
