Luis Diaz will reportedly be in the Liverpool squad this afternoon that will face off against Cardiff City in the FA Cup.
According to the Times reporter Paul Joyce on Twitter, the Colombian international will be part of Jurgen Klopp’s squad following his January arrival from FC Porto.
Diaz was a surprise signing for Liverpool last month after the South American attacker looked set to join Tottenham. However, the Reds swooped in at the eleventh hour to sign the 24-year-old.
And now, the winger looks set to make his Liverpool debut today against Cardiff, with both Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane both set to lead their countries in the Africa Cup of Nations final later tonight.
Klopp is expected to field a weakened XI this afternoon with the likes of Caoimhin Kelleher and Joel Matip likely to start. Yet with the news on Diaz, the spotlight will now be on the forward.
Indeed, Liverpool will be the favourites today against Cardiff, and with Diaz now set to feature, this afternoon’s early fixture has just become that more interesting for supporters.
Diaz can make Liverpool debut one to remember against Cardiff

It is likely that Diaz will start today on the bench given the nature of how top managers like to integrate new players into the squad. Yet if all goes to plan, the winger could have a Liverpool debut to remember against Cardiff.
Indeed, Klopp will no doubt be keen to get a good result this afternoon. And Diaz could be an electric option off the bench for Liverpool should Cardiff prove to be stubborn to break down.
