Speaking on The Done Deal Show, Ben Jacobs has shared what he knows about Raphinha’s future amid all sorts of ongoing speculation.
The Brazilian is seemingly on his way out of Leeds United, and right now, it looks as though Chelsea are leading the race for his signature despite the fact Arsenal made the first move to sign him last week.
The Blues may be on the verge of landing Raphinha, but according to Jacobs, Arsenal haven’t given up on signing the winger.
In fact, according to the journalist, Edu has been trying to figure out how much he needs to bid to land the Leeds United man.
What’s been said?
Jacobs shared what he knows about Raphinha.
“From Arsenal’s point of view in that transfer, they haven’t entirely given up. So, while Chelsea nad Raphinha speak, Arsenal could try to alter the situation. As of last night Edu was floundering trying to work out what was going on and trying to figure out what Arsenal would have to bid to get an agreement with Leeds United having discovered that his second bid had been turned down,” Jacobs said.
“If you go from 8PM one night to this morning, Arsenal’s perspective on Raphinha hasn’t changed, they’ll either give up because they don’t want to meet their valuation or they’ll put in another bid or they’ll have no opportunity to do that because now that there’s a Chelsea interest Raphinha is not interested in an Arsenal move.
“None of this has been communicated to Arsenal, so they haven’t made another bid, they haven’t given up either, they’re waiting to see how the next 24 to 48 hours will play out.”

Move quickly
If Arsenal are going to put a third bid in for Raphinha, they need to move quickly.
All the signs point towards the Brazilian joining Chelsea, and with every passing hour, that move could be getting closer to completion.
If Arsenal are going to hijack this one, they have to do it soon. Otherwise, it may be too late for them to pry him away from Stamford Bridge.
Edu needs to act quickly and authoritatively if he’s going to land Raphinha.
