Journalist says Arsenal are ‘very confident’ about signing midfielder who ‘fancies a move to London’

Speaking on the Talking Transfers Podcast, Graeme Bailey has been discussing Youri Tielemans and Arsenal’s interest in the Belgian.

The Gunners have been linked with the Leicester City midfielder for quite some time now, and according to Bailey, the London club are now very confident that they’ll be able to close this deal.

According to the journalist, Arsenal are pushing ahead with their interest in Tielemans, while the player himself has had a move to London in his sights for quite some time now.

Bailey spoke about Arsenal and Tielemans.

“We’ve done a piece and we’ve managed to get hold of a source close to the club who confirms that intent, the club are pushing ahead with this, they are very confident of getting him. We’ve spoken to the player’s camp at length, Leicester accept that the player is going now, he has a lot of interest from around the world, but he fancies a move to London, he’s ready for this and he’s long had Arsenal in his sights,” Bailey said.

This could be an absolutely brilliant signing from Arsenal.

The Belgian has been starring in the Premier League for a number of years now, and while he’s not had his best season this term, he’s still got a massive amount of talent.

The fact that Tielemans has had a move to Arsenal in his sights for some time now is also a good sign. After all, a player is more likely to perform if he’s happy with his surroundings, and it sounds as though the midfielder will relish the chance to play under Mikel Arteta.
