Speaking on the Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast, Alasdair Gold has been discussing Ryan Sessegnon and how Antonio Conte is feeling about the 22-year-old at the moment.

The former Fulham man is finally enjoying something of a breakout season at Tottenham – three years after arriving in north London, and according to Gold, Conte is very impressed by the youngster.

Indeed, Gold says that the Spurs manager is very pleased with the wing-back and how he’s developing.

What’s been said?

Gold spoke about Sessegnon.

“Yeah, we’re just thinking about injuries aren’t we? That’s the main thing with Sessegnon, steer clear of injuries. He’s gone off with the England U21s now, please, please don’t do anything there because he’s had a few problems with them in the past. The more confidence he has with getting minutes and not getting injured, we’ll see him develop, Conte is very pleased with him and who better a mentor to have than one of the best in the world in that position in Perisic?”

Ready to kick-on

Conte is reportedly very happy with Sessegnon and it’s not hard to understand why.

The youngster has taken to the Italian’s system like a duck to water, and at the age of just 22, he is ready to kick-on and become an absolute superstar for Spurs.

It feels like a long time ago now, but let’s not forget that Sessegnon was once seen as the brightest young talent in England, and while he’s not fulfilled that potential quite yet, he’s back on the right path under Conte.

Sessegnon has been on the peripheries at Spurs for quite some time, but now he’s ready to kick-on and make a real impact for the London club.
