Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly looking for a long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris.

The Spurs and France legend is out of contract at N17 next summer.

In addition, Lloris is 36 and has made a number of mistakes for Tottenham this term.

There’s a good chance Spurs will be looking to bring in his long-term successor in the next transfer window.

One goalkeeper Tottenham have been linked with used to play for bitter rivals Arsenal.

And according to transfer journalist Graeme Bailey, he’s actually eager to link up with Spurs.

The player in question is Aston Villa and Argentina ace Emiliano Martinez.

Bailey, speaking on the Talking Transfers podcast, talked about a potential domino effect involving Tottenham.

He claimed Martinez is the “other person who wants to join” Spurs alongside David Raya.

This could then potentially lead to Villa moving for Raya to replace a N17-bound Martinez, he speculated.

“The other person who wants to join Tottenham is Emi Martinez at Villa,” said Bailey.

“Do we see a domino effect? Does David Raya then become a target for Villa? Yeah, I could see that.

“We might see a few dominoes need to drop here for these goalkeepers but there’s a lot of teams who want goalkeepers.”

Golden opportunity for Totenham

Martinez has kicked on massively since leaving Arsenal behind and linking up with Aston Villa.

For much of his time at N5, he was merely a deputy.

Now, he’s officially the best goalkeeper in the world and a World Cup winner.

Aside from being world-class, Martinez knows the Premier League inside out and is still young.

He’d be an outstanding acquisition for Spurs, and if they get the opportunity to sign him, they mustn’t pass it up.
