Sacha Tavolieri has told CalcioMercato that Newcastle and Leicester are among the clubs interested in signing Club Brugge attacker Charles De Ketelaere. AC Milan and Napoli are also keen, with £33.5million needed.

De Ketelaere, 21, has been regularly linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months – as he continues to shine at Brugge. The Belgium international has already clocked up 111 appearances for his current side.

This season, the attacker has shown his best form. Playing as a no.9, in the 10 role or even on the left flank, De Ketelaere has scored 16 goals in 40 appearances – as well as creating nine. Such form has not gone unnoticed.

Italian journalist Tavolieri claims that Newcastle and Leicester are among the clubs taking a look at the four-time Belgium star – as are Milan and Napoli. Tavolieri says Brugge are requesting a fee of £33.5million.

“Milan like him but also Napoli. For the Rossoneri it is the perfect profile, but Brugge are asking for €40m (£33.5m). It is not a priority for Milan and on him there are Leicester and Newcastle,” Tavolieri claimed.

Tavolieri on De Ketelaere: Brilliant signing for Newcastle, Leicester

If you could pick two clubs which would fit De Ketelaere, there would hardly be any better than Newcastle and Leicester. The Toon need a striker for the future, given they have Chris Wood and Callum Wilson.

De Ketelaere, at 21, has enormous quality. But he would not simply be third choice, given his ability to play out wide or as a 10. At Leicester, their faith in youth would see De Ketelaere get plenty of chances to play.
