Leeds United could reportedly make an ambitious move in the coming days to sign Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic, with the west London side looking to sell the American international this summer.
According to journalist Dean Jones via GiveMeSport, Jesse Marsch could make a surprise move to sign the former Borussia Dortmund star, though the chances of a move actually happening are rather slim despite Chelsea pushing to sell Pulisic before the closure of the transfer window.
The 23-year-old attacker has struggled for regular minutes ever since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel as manager of Chelsea, and this summer has seen Pulisic been heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge, with Leeds the latest side linked with the Hershey-born winger.
Signed by Chelsea in 2019 for a reported £58m, Pulisic is slowly looking like another failed big-money project for the Blues, and with Jesse Marsch at the helm at Leeds, it makes sense why the Whites are now considering a move to sign the United States superstar.
However, a deal is hard to imagine even with Chelsea eager to sell Pulisic, with Jones saying: “It wouldn’t surprise me if Leeds were to try their luck on it, but I just can’t see Christian Pulisic going for it, even with Jesse Marsch there, it’s not the level of football that he moved to England to be playing.
“Going from Borussia Dortmund to Chelsea, that’s a clear pathway to becoming one of the best players in your position in the world, and to then move on to Leeds, I don’t think that’s really what he’s got in mind at the moment.”
Leeds could be Chelsea’s only option if they want to sell Pulisic

Pulisic signing for Leeds feels like the stuff of dreams if the attacker is to link up with Marsch and fellow Americans Tyler Adams and Brenden Aaronson, and as it stands, the Yorkshire giants could be the only option for Chelsea if they’re set on selling 23-year-old winger this summer.
Indeed, whilst the drop off will be huge for Pulisic, there’s always a small chance a move could happen given the huge American influence at the club, and ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar where the attacker could wear the armband for the USMNT, signing for Leeds could be a great move for the forward.
