If rumours are to be believed, Gianluca Scamacca joining Arsenal has become a little more realistic.
Arsenal are linked with signing the towering Sassuolo hitman – who stands at 6’5 [Transfermarkt] – during the summer transfer window.
Last week, it was reported that the Gunners would have to cough up £42 million for the Italy international [Foot Mercato].
Earlier this week, Sempre Milan reported that AC Milan were planning an ‘assault’ on the imposing striker, who netted 16 goals in Serie A last term.
But according to one Italy-based journalist, San Siro is no longer an option for the player in a development which could make Arsenal’s efforts significantly less complicated.
Paolo Bargiggia has told Calcionapoli24: “Scamacca will not arrive, despite the many reports of the last few days.”
Is Gianluca Scamacca joining Arsenal?
Well it isn’t definite just because the Rossoneri are no longer in the mix.
But if the Italian champions aren’t in the equation then yes, the Gunners do, in theory, have a better shot at bringing him to the Emirates Stadium.
It isn’t exactly a clear path to signing Scamacca for Edu – who personally wants the player at the Emirates Stadium [90 min] – and Mikel Arteta, because Paris Saint-Germain are the other team regularly linked.
And although PSG can offer him more money and Champions League football, he will more than likely play more regularly under Arteta for Arsenal, who only have one recognised striker at the club – Eddie Nketiah – and even he hasn’t signed a new contract yet.
