As reported by Alasdair Gold of Football.London, Antonio Conte is likely to commit his long-term future by signing a new contract with Tottenham Hotspur.

Plenty of times after his appointment last season, the Italian manager hinted at an exit away from the club.

Especially after Spurs’ 1-0 defeat to Burnley in February, where his side had lost four out of their last five fixtures.

After the contest, the former Chelsea boss said (via Fan Nation), “The situation is clear and I’m really sorry for the fans because they don’t deserve this.”

“But when you lose four games in the last five games, it means that the club has to make an assessment, to speak together and understand what is the best solution.”

Several Tottenham supporters were anxious about the ex-Inter manager bidding farewell to the club after seeming unhappy with circumstances.

The nervousness surrounded the club as it must be said that it came as a surprise that one of the most elite coaches in the game took over a side that have failed to win silverware for over a decade.

However, Alasdair Gold has now revealed in a report by Football.London that that there is a belief within Tottenham that Antonio Conte will sign a new contract.

Furthermore, those within the club believe that the decorated manager is feeling “re-energised” after a family holiday during the World Cup.

It has been claimed that discussions about a new deal will also involved conversations about the club’s strategy in the January transfer window, as well as next season.

At the start of the New Year, it is believed that Conte wishes to bring in two new signings, with his aim to strengthen the side’s defence, boost the creativity and upgrade any fringe players.

If Antonio Conte does decide to pledge his future at Tottenham, the club’s hope of ending their trophy drought certainly stays alive.
