Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, Journalist Ian McGarry has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have now contacted Gareth Southgate’s representatives with a view to him becoming the next Tottenham manager.
The 50-year-old is, of course, the current England boss, but if McGarry is to be believed he could be the next Tottenham manager.
Indeed, Spurs have reportedly contacted Southgate’s representatives, and he’s supposedly someone Levy admires.
“It is our information at the Transfer Window Podcast that Gareth Southgate, the England manager, his representatives have been contacted with regards to the possibility of him becoming the next Tottenham Hotspur boss.
“That will of course be complicated by England’s participation in the Euros this summer. However, it is Daniel Levy’s intention to employ a younger more attack-minded coach, so that’s why Southgate is in the frame, and he’s someone Levy admires as level-headed, but with ambition and as I say a philosophy of football that Spurs want to implement, especially with the younger players coming through.”

Would Southgate be a good appointment as the next Tottenham manager?
Well, he’s taken England to a World Cup semi-final, but as we all know, international management and club management are two very different things.
Southgate has worked as a club gaffer in the past, managing Middlesbrough in the late 2000s.
During his time at Boro, Southgate won one Premier League Manager of the Month award, but he also suffered a relegation, so his club career is something of a mixed bag to say the least.
