Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, Duncan Castles has claimed that reported Arsenal target Raheem Sterling is for sale, and he’s shared Barcelona’s stance on signing him.

Sterling has been strongly linked to Arsenal in recent weeks, and it seems as though that is a move that could come to fruition as Castles claims he’s up for sale.

What’s been said?

Castles was talking about potential departures at Manchester City, and he named Sterling as a player that has been put up for sale.

Castles says that he has been offered to Barcelona, but the La Liga outfit don’t want to bring him in.

“There’s another choice or exploration going on in that Raheem Sterling has been placed on the market. He has, I understand, been offered to Barcelona, and Barcelona have said that they don’t want to take him. My understanding is that there was a fall-out with Guardiola during the season where Sterling confronted Guardiola about being left out of their 5-2 win over Southampton in March, and Guardiola didn’t take it well,” Castles said.

Door is open

The door is seemingly wide open for Arsenal to swoop in here.

The Gunners reportedly want Sterling, and if he’s up for sale, there’s a chance for this deal to happen.

Of course, it won’t be a cheap move, but given how talented the winger is, it could be a transfer that is worth it for the London club, especially when you consider how well he worked with Mikel Arteta during his time at Manchester City.

This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on.
