Tottenham Hotspur may have missed out on Antonio Conte, but they’re still on course to land director of football Fabio Paratici according to Alasdair Gold.
Spurs were closing in on appointing Conte as their new manager having parted ways with Jose Mourinho in April.
However, the deal has collapsed, with The Times reporting that Spurs pulled the plug due to concerns about Conte’s demands, despite Conte himself being willing to think over the move this weekend.
Many assumed that a move to bring in Paratici was alongside Conte. The pair had worked together at Juventus, and had remained close friends even after parting ways.
Despite Conte’s move falling apart, Paratici – who left Juve earlier this summer – is allegedly still set to take the director of football position at Tottenham.
Football.London’s Alasdair Gold offered an exciting update this weekend, stating on YouTube that Paratici has already started planning Tottenham’s summer business ahead of taking the job.

That includes selling players as well as targeting new signings. Paratici won’t have a big budget to work with, given that Tottenham missed out on Champions League and Europa League football.
Spurs fans needed some good news after the Conte update. The deal for Paratici isn’t done yet, but that he’s already making plans for Tottenham’s summer is an exciting step in the right direction.
