Speaking on The Redmen TV YouTube channel, journalist Neil Jones has claimed Liverpool don’t think Ben Woodburn has a future at the club.

Woodburn burst onto the scene as a 16-year-old at Liverpool, and despite the fact he’s previously been described by Jurgen Klopp as an ‘outstanding talent’, the Reds don’t have high hopes for him.

It’s been rumoured this week that he could once again go out on loan, and Jones believes that he may be on his way out on a permanent basis sooner rather than later.

What’s been said?

Jones was discussing Woodburn.

“There’s been some bad luck there, it would be nice if he got some good luck. I don’t think he has a future at Liverpool, and Liverpool are pretty much resigned to that fact. He’s in the last year of his contract, so the fact that they’re willing to loan him sort of tells you what they think of him,” Jones said.

Sad, but the right decision

It’s sad that Woodburn will seemingly never make it at Liverpool, but it’s the right decision to let him go.

Sadly, the reality is that the Welshman isn’t good enough to play for a team at this level. After all, he’s not even stood out when playing League One football in recent years.

He’s a talented player, and if things went differently for him as a teenager, perhaps he could have been a star, but at the age of 21, any dream of being one of the main men at Liverpool have seemingly faded.
