CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs has told GiveMeSport that Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney would ideally want to play in a European competition next season, amid interest from Unai Emery’s Aston Villa and Javi Gracia’s Leeds United among other clubs.
Jacobs has said that Tierney could leave Arsenal at the end of the season, adding that Newcastle United are keen on the Scotland international left-back.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has said that he has been informed that the former Celtic left-back would ideally want to play in an European competition next season.
According to 90min, Leeds and Aston Villa are among the clubs who are keen on Tierney.
Kieran Tierney stance amid Leeds United and Aston Villa interest
Jacobs said: “The Newcastle interest is genuine. Left-back is an area Eddie Howe knows he needs to strengthen.
“I am told Tierney ideally wants European football still, which may rule out Aston Villa despite some links.
“And there is interest from Ligue 1, too. Keep an eye on Monaco, especially if Caio Henrique leaves.
“There will be interest in the Brazilian, but I should also point out he only signed a new deal until 2027 last summer.”

Blow for the Whites and the Villains
In our view, it is unlikely that Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney would join Aston Villa and Leeds United in the summer transfer window.
Leeds could get relegated to the Championship at the end of the season, while Villa are unlikely to end up in the European places in the Premier League table this season.
Tierney won league titles and played in Europe with Celtic, and he could become a Premier League champion with Arsenal this season.
So, we do not see why the left-back would move to Villa or Leeds and not to a club where he would get to play in European competitions and challenge for major honours.
