Speaking on The Redmen TV YouTube channel, Goal journalist Neil Jones has shared an insight on how Jurgen Klopp views his Liverpool squad.

Klopp has assembled a brilliant squad at Anfield, and while the current first-teamers are fantastic, there are two youngsters on the books that he genuinely believes could be future stars.

Indeed, Jones says that Klopp genuinely thinks Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott could be key players for the Reds in the future.

What’s been said?

Jones was speaking about how Klopp views his squad.

“We often get criticised for suggesting that Klopp likes his squad, there’s this idea that he’s having a battle with people behind the scenes and we mask that or hide that, but he does genuinely think Divock Origi is far better than anyone who is watching this show thinks or I think, he genuinely thinks that Curtis Jones is going to be a star and Harvey Elliott is going to be a star, whereas maybe some other people are less convinced by it,” Jones said.

Could be right

Klopp is one of the best managers in the world, and you don’t become a great gaffer unless you can accurately judge a player’s ability.

Elliott and Jones are only young, but if they’ve convinced Klopp that they could be future stars, it’s hard to argue against their potential.

Jones has already shown his calibre in the Champions League and the Premier League, so he’s well on his way to becoming a star, while Elliott has looked exciting so far during his career.

The future is certainly bright at Anfield.
