Fabrizio Romano has told Sky Sports that Paris Saint-Germain are still interested in signing Dele Alli from Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window.

The Telegraph reported earlier this month that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy does not want Alli to leave for PSG on loan this month.

Levy is reportedly worried that the departure of the England international midfielder could leave Spurs short if there are injuries.

Well-known and well-respected journalist Romano, who works for the Guardian and SkySport, has said that PSG are still pushing, and has suggested that Mauricio Pochettino’s new club could make an offer for the 24-year-old in the coming days.

Romano told Sky Sports: “Paris Saint-Germain are pushing. They want Dele Alli on loan until the end of the season with no buy option, just a simple loan until the end of the season.

“Dele Alli is pushing also because he wants to leave Tottenham. He respects the club, the manager, the owner, everyone at the club, but he just wants to play and he’s not playing for Tottenham in this moment.

“Mauricio Pochettino would love to get him back so that’s why they are pushing and they hope in the coming days to change the situation with Daniel Levy.

“At the moment Daniel Levy does not want to let Alli go, but Alli’s pushing and Paris Saint-Germain are going to try again in the coming days.”

Leaving Tottenham Hotspur

Alli is struggling for playing time at Tottenham at the moment, and one can understand why the Englishman reportedly wants to leave the North London club in the January transfer window.

The England international has a lot of potential, and with a place in Gareth Southgate’s squad at stake for the European Championship in the summer of 2021, it would make sense for him to go and play first-team football fo PSG, who are a big club and are aiming to win Ligue 1 and the Champions League this season.

According to WhoScored, Alli has made one start and three substitute appearances in the Premier League and has made two starts and two substitute appearances in the Europa League for Spurs so far this season.
