Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, Ian McGarry has shared his information that Celtic have now knocked back a bid from Odsonne Edouard from Leicester City.
It was heavily reported this week that the Foxes were keen on making a move for the French forward, and it seems as though they’ve done just that.
Indeed, the east Midlands outfit have put in their first formal bid, but it seems as though it didn’t come close to meeting the Scottish champions’ valuation of the player.
“We did bring you news last week about Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard and the interest in him from Premier League clubs. We can now reveal that it is our understanding that Leicester City have had a formal bid rejected for the Celtic striker.
“The bid was around £14m, with Celtic valuing the player at £11m more than that at £25m.”

It seems as though this is a saga that could rumble on for some time.
£11m is quite some way off the asking price, so there’s a lot of negotiation to be done if this deal is to get over the line.
Brendan Rodgers is obviously very keen on the player, and he knows exactly how good he can be, having worked with him at Celtic Park for a number of years.
We can’t imagine that we’ve heard the last of this saga, but it seems as though we’re still at square one as Celtic have rejected Leicester’s first bid for the forward.
