Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, Ian McGarry has claimed that Tottenham target Antonio Rudiger could be on the move in January after his current club instructed a high-profile agent to find a move for him.

Chelsea’s out of favour centre-back has been strongly linked to Tottenham.

The German has started just one Premier League game this season, and with Duncan Castles recently claiming that Tottenham want a centre-back in January, there could soon be an opening for them to sign Rudiger.

“We have been told at The Transfer Window, that a very prominent agent has been given a mandate to sell, if possible, or certainly put on loan two players, and those two players are the out of favour goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, as well as Antonio Rudiger who has started just one Premier League game this season,” McGarry said.

“And that is in order to raise money for a bid for Declan Rice, a transfer which we have long been talking about here on this podcast.”

It certainly seems as though a deal could be struck for Rudiger, and if Tottenham want him in January, he’s there for the taking.

Of course, with Spurs’ rather disastrous financial results being published last month there could be a bit of an issue if Chelsea are looking for a big fee for the German international, but if he’s available on the cheap, Spurs could swoop in the winter window.

Rudiger is obviously a player with a lot of experience playing at the top level and he knows what it takes to win trophies in this country, after all, he is an FA Cup winner.

Whether or not Tottenham move for him in January remains to be seen, but this is certainly one to keep an eye on once the transfer window opens.
