According to Gerard Romero, Barcelona have now placed Marc-Andre ter Stegen on the transfer list amid interest from Newcastle.
What’s the story?
Well, it was SPORT who revealed that Newcastle had submitted a bid for the 27-cap Germany international.
Now, Barcelona have decided to part ways with the 29-year-old, who they paid €12m (£10m) for in 2014.
Romero shared his findings live on Twitch, where he also revealed that Sergino Dest and Frenkie de Jong are free to leave the Camp Nou.
Clearly, Xavi is eyeing a bit of a clear out as he looks to put his stamp on Barcelona.
Ter Stegen was once regarded as one of the best glovesman in Europe.
However, the Barcelona No.1 has endured a shaky time of late, and things didn’t get any better last night as Bayern Munich put three past him.
Ter Stegen certainly should’ve done better with Leroy Sane’s strike, which was right at him.
Time for Newcastle to persuade Marc-Andre ter Stegen

This is a big development for Newcastle in their pursuit of the German.
However, there is still one major hurdle to clear.
SPORT believe the shot-stopper isn’t convinced by a move to Newcastle, as he’s concerned about the lack of structure at St James’ Park.
Of course, that is to be expected when there is currently no Director of Football (DOF) at Newcastle.

In our view, Amanda Staveley has to find a DOF soon, and then the Magpies can work alongside them to persuade Ter Stegen.
One thing’s for certain – if Newcastle pull this off, it would be a huge statement from the new owners, to say the least.
