Dean Jones has told Give Me Sport that Arsenal have now been offered the chance to sign Everton star Richarlison – even if the Toffees remain in the top flight. The Gunners have been strongly linked with the Brazil attacker.

Richarlison, 24, netted his 50th goal for Everton in just 147 games with a late effort against Leicester – drawing 1-1. He failed to make the difference against Liverpool, but Richarlison is a top player and Arsenal are keen.

Planet Sport said Arsenal wanted to sign Richarlison earlier this year, with sporting director Edu said to be a big admirer. Everton sit in the relegation zone, showing serious signs of possibly being relegated in the summer.

Now, Jones claims Arsenal have actually been offered the seven-goal Premier League star – who was bought by Everton for £50million from Watford. He thinks there is a real chance Arsenal sign Richarlison.

“I think Arsenal definitely have a possibility of signing Richarlison. They know that he could leave Everton and is likely to leave Everton in the summer. They’ve been offered the chance to sign him,” Jones said.

Jones on Richarlison: Does Everton star improve Arsenal?

In terms of the player, Richarlison would be a good signing. He is another Brazilian so fits in well, but he also offers cover out wide. However, he is not a natural no.9 – and that is perhaps, what Arsenal need most.

Also, his attitude should be debated. Arteta has got rid of Mesut Ozil, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Matteo Guendouzi due to issues with attitude. Richarlison falls into that category, one to avoid for Arteta, perhaps.

Theo Walcott once discussed his personality, and on-the-edge style of playing: “He is what you would expect from a Brazilian. It’s how he looks at you, it’s confidence in a good way. He is a good lad but he is young.”
