Dean Jones has told Give Me Sport that Lautaro Martinez wants to leave Inter Milan for the Premier League; Arsenal and Tottenham are his most-likely avenues for that. Martinez worked under Antonio Conte at Inter.

Lautaro, 24, has been in sensational form for Inter once again – scoring 20 goals this season. Despite the change of managers and the loss of his partner Romelu Lukaku, he has already exceeded last season’s tally of 19.

CalcioMercato reported this month that clubs would have to pay a fee of £67.5million for the Copa America winner. Arsenal and Tottenham continue to be linked with the Argentina international ahead of the summer.

Now, journalist and transfer expert Jones states that Martinez is keen on a move to the Premier League – and that Spurs and Arsenal are the most-likely clubs to get him. It depends if either want to spend £67.5million.

“Spurs and Arsenal are both going to revisit the situation. I’m told there is a fair chance Lautaro leaves. He still really fancies playing in the Premier League. The two London clubs are his best chance of that happening.”

Jones on Martinez: Arsenal or Tottenham for Inter star?

Arsenal is his best bet. The Gunners desperately need additions up top. Eddie Nketiah has established himself back in the Arsenal side with two goals against Chelsea and a brilliant performance vs Manchester United.

But Nketiah is out of contract and so is Alexandre Lacazette. If they fail to sign new deals, and they need replacing. At Tottenham, Spurs have Harry Kane and if they finish fourth, the chances are he will remain.

So, if Arsenal can pip Spurs to fourth – which is looking good at the moment – then there is a chance it could also seem them win the race for Martinez.
