CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs has told Give Me Sport that Chelsea attacker Christian Pulisic would be tempted by a move to Newcastle United ahead of the January window – with Leeds United also said to be looking at the American.
Pulisic, 24, is struggling for game time at Chelsea. While the USA skipper has played in all nine of Chelsea’s matches this season, he has only started once – against West Ham. He got an assist on Saturday against Crystal Palace.
The Athletic reported in September that Pulisic was actually disappointed not to leave Chelsea in the summer. The US star wanted to leave in order to get game time, preparing him the best way possible ahead of the World Cup in Qatar.
Dean Jones told Give Me Sport in the summer that Leeds could make a move. But now, Jacobs has continued by saying that the ex-Dortmund star would be keen on a move to Newcastle. Even if the issue of the World Cup is now irrelevant.

“I think if Newcastle made the right offer, that could be very tempting to Pulisic. But he’s one of the players that the World Cup is really going to influence now. He’s stuck at Chelsea until the World Cup,” Jacobs reported.
Jacobs: Chelsea attacker Pulisic would be tempted by Newcastle
What a signing Pulisic would be for Newcastle. An even more-recent report from CalcioMercato said that clubs would only have to pay around £31.5million to sign him. But Graham Potter has a couple of months to make a decision.
The Toon need a winger. Miguel Almiron was exceptional against Fulham on the weekend, but the Paraguay star is not consistent enough for the Toon. Jacob Murphy and Ryan Fraser are good squad players, but not the answer.
Eddie Howe needs a player to play on the right in a front three with Alexander Isak or Callum Wilson, and Allan Saint-Maximin. So, for Pulisic to be tempted by Newcastle, The Toon really have to consider a move in January.
