Nottingham Forest fans should soon be treated to an official announcement regarding the signing of Gustavo Scarpa.
Steve Cooper and the recruitment team at the City Ground wrapped up a deal to sign the 28-year-old a few months ago in what was a pre-contract agreement.
Scarpa will now join Nottingham Forest on a free transfer, subject to the Brazilian passing his medical.
What’s the story?
Well, the above is according to Fabrizio Romano, who believes Scarpa is flying to England today, and will land in the next few hours to finalise his move to Nottingham Forest over the weekend.
The South American has agreed a three-and-a-half year contract at the City Ground.
You can see what Romano posted on Twitter in full below.
Scarpa joins Nottingham Forest during a period where he is arguably in the best form of his career.
The attacking midfielder only recently helped Palmeiras win the Série A title, remarkably scoring 13 goals and setting up a further 15 in all competitions.
Scarpa’s efforts also helped him win ESPN Brasil’s Golden Ball award, given to the best player in Série A.
Nottingham Forest’s latest signing picked up his award in some style, skateboarding onto the stage in true Bart Simpson style.
Gustavo Scarpa could save Nottingham Forest
The 1-0 win over Crystal Palace just before World Cup mania took over gave Nottingham Forest and Cooper some much needed breathing space in the Premier League.
However, they still find themselves 18th in the Premier League, one point off Everton in 17th, so there is plenty of work left to do.

One thing Nottingham Forest have been lacking is a bit of creative guile in midfield, something that Scarpa is bound to bring if he can settle quickly at the City Ground.
If he hits the ground running, the Brazilian sensation has the ability to keep Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
