Diogo Jota has revealed what Jordan Henderson did before the Portugal international’s first training session at Liverpool.
The former Atletico Madrid attacker told the Premier League’s Uncut YouTube show: ‘Before I arrived for my first training session he already texted me, saying that he will be there for me, saying welcome. It was a big thing for me and I was not expecting it and I just wanted to thank Jordan for that.’
What a lovely gesture from the Liverpool captain.
Henderson continues to prove that he thinks beyond on-pitch matters as the man who wears the armband for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Another example of his leadership occurred when Dejan Lovren left the club to join Zenit St Petersburg in the summer.

The Croatian revealed on Instagram that Henderson sent him a replica model of the Premier League trophy, along with a heartwarming message.
The ex-Sunderland man – who joined Liverpool for £20 million – seems to have done wonders in helping Jota acclimatise to life on Merseyside.
Having arrived in a £41 million move from Wolves, the ex-Porto forward has already netted seven goals in ten games, including a Champions League hat-trick against Atalanta.

Jota is proving to be an inspired signing by Klopp, and it’s no wonder he’s settled in so quickly when he has players like Henderson supporting him at Anfield.
If he keeps this form up, then £41 million will seem like an absolute bargain for Liverpool – in truth, it’s already starting to feel that way.
