Diogo Jota has taken to Instagram to respond to Divock Origi’s Instagram post after Liverpool’s dramatic win at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon.

The Belgium international came off the bench to snatch all three points for Jurgen Klopp’s outfit with a stoppage-time goal at Molineux yesterday.

Without Origi’s intervention, the post-match headlines for Liverpool looked destined to centre around Jota’s horrible miss in the second half against his former club, where he left in a £45 million deal during the summer of 2020.

The 25-year-old looked certain to open the scoring against Wanderers but, with an open goal at his mercy, the Portuguese fired against Conor Coady who, in fairness to him, executed a wonderful block.

Thankfully for Jota, the Belgian attacker was on hand to get his teammate out of jail.

Origi posted a wordless Instagram message on social media directly after the game – and Jota, showing a great sense of humour, responded by simply writing, ‘Thanks’ in reference to his earlier howler.

What a massive moment for Liverpool!

You simply cannot understate the importance of that victory for Klopp’s Liverpool outfit.

The Anfield giants moved top of the Premier League table at the time, only for Manchester City to leapfrog them later in the day.

But Premier League title hopefuls are well-known for their capacity to grind out the most difficult of games, as Liverpool have just done and that exact appetite could potentially stand them in good stead during the run-in.
