Rangers legend Ally McCoist has praised Celtic winger Jota on BT Sport 3 (10:27pm, November 25, 2021) for his goal against Bayer Leverkusen on Thursday evening.

The former Rangers manager was impressed by the goal that Jota scored for Celtic in their Europa League game against Bayer in Germany.

The 22-year-old winger, on loan from Benfica, found the back of the net with a wonderful strike in the 56th minute.

However, Ange Postecoglou’s side lost the Group G game 3-2.

The result means that Celtic will not progress to the next round of the Europa League.

Jota a bright spark for Celtic

Jota has been one of the best players for Celtic so far this season.

And against Bayer last night, Jota played well.

The 22-year-old winger finished off the counter-attack – started by Joe Hart – brilliantly against the German club.

The Portuguese youngster was a constant problem for the Bayer defence.

Jota has scored four goals and provided four assists in nine Scottish Premiership games so far this season.

The Celtic no. 17 has scored two goals and given two assists in five Europa League matches this campaign.
