Could Nottingham Forest revisit their alleged interest in Wright?
Josh Wright of Gillingham
Five months after The Sun linked him with a £100,000 move to Nottingham Forest, Josh Wright could be about to become a free agent.
Wright scored 13 goals for the Gills last season, but has endured a difficult start to the new campaign.
The 27-year-old was left out of Ady Pinnock’s side to face Southend United on Saturday, seven days after he missed a penalty in a 1-0 defeat against Milton Keynes Dons.
It is alleged the player had refused to be named as a substitute, a claim he vehemently denied on social media afterwards.
And while there has been no official confirmation of Wright’s departure from Priestfield, Sky’s report is certainly plausible given the context.
So could Nottingham Forest revisit their alleged interest? The Reds, it seems, are in the market for another midfielder, having had an offer for Hibernian’s John McGinn turned down at the weekend, as confirmed by the Scottish side’s manager Neil Lennon.

But with Hibs demanding £5 million for McGinn, Forest are likely to seek cheaper alternatives.
Whether or not they’ll turn to Wright remains to be seen, but based on the form he showed last season he could be worth a gamble.
Would Wright be a good signing for Nottingham Forest?
