Josh Windass recently drew criticism from Rangers fans after a controversial interview about his time at the club.

Windass left Rangers in the summer after two seasons at Ibrox.

Last night he was subject of a jab on Twitter from a Rangers supporter – but it was a misguided one.

It began with Windass praising Scotland’s performance against Israel, which saw Celtic winger James Forrest score a hat-trick.

Windass was then targeted by a Rangers fans who told he he could have been starring in the match if he had stayed at Ibrox.

Except it missed one key fact – Windass is English, as he enjoyed pointing out.

Windass is an easy target as he is so outspoken and comes across as full of himself, but this was one occasion where his detractors got it wrong.

The attacker is currently at Wigan Athletic, and as far as England’s national team is concerned, he is a long way off.
