Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers got a win in pre-season yesterday, with Jermain Defoe scoring.

Former Glasgow Rangers forward Josh Windass has poked fun at James Tavernier, after the club posted highlights from their friendly match yesterday.
Rangers are stepping up their preparations for next season, with Steven Gerrard’s side taking on TNS in a friendly yesterday.
Rangers won the contest 1-0, with Jermain Defoe scoring the goal for the Ibrox side.
But Tavernier’s run forward for Gerrard’s men was what caught Windass’ eye.
The right-back drove through the centre of the pitch, before releasing a clever through ball to Sheyi Ojo, who squared it for Defoe to tap in.
And Windass couldn’t believe that Tavernier was making such a run in a central position.
Tavernier is a constant attacking threat for Rangers, and keeping him will be important for Gerrard’s side.
Tavenier has attracted attention from English clubs, but looks set to still be at Rangers next term.
