Glasgow Rangers brought Josh Windass to Ibrox in the summer of 2016.

Rangers midfielder Josh Windass has been quoted as saying by The National that manager Pedro Caixinha’s playing style suits him.

Windass joined Rangers in the summer of 2016 after leaving Accrington Stanley at the end of the 2015-16 campaign.

The 23-year-old midfielder arrived at Ibrox amid a lot of expectation, but his debut campaign for the Gers has been affected by injuries.

The midfielder has played well for Rangers in certain matches, but he still needs to do more for what is one of Scotland’s biggest clubs.

Windass, though, seems to be confident about himself, and has claimed that new manager Caixinha’s playing style suits him.

“When I first came in I did quite well,” The National quotes Windass as saying. “My performances were good and I was playing week in, week out.

“And then I picked up a few injuries and I’ve struggled for form since then. Hopefully I can get back to what it was when I first signed and pick things back up.

“The manager’s way of playing suits my style of explosive power, sprinting and stuff like that. He likes players to get on the ball which is good for me.

“When he first came in I was injured which is a bit unfortunate but I’m glad to get in the team and hopefully stay in it, although Saturday’s defeat to Celtic was massively disappointing for us.”

Caixinha will be looking to make signings in the summer transfer window, and many of the current Rangers players could be in danger of being shipped out.

Windass, though, should be given at least one more season to showcase his quality and talent, as he has the potential to become a very good player for Rangers in the long run.
