Josh Windass has criticised Rangers forward Umar Sadiq on Twitter after the youngster was booked for diving during the latter stages of the Gers’ Scottish League Cup semi-final clash with Aberdeen at Hampden Park.

Sadiq was handed the chance to make his full debut for the Gers in the last four clash, with Kyle Lafferty cup-tied and Alfredo Morelos suspended for the game.

It was a difficult afternoon for the summer signing who struggled to capitalise on the dominance that Rangers enjoyed in the middle of the park. He was continually flagged offside and failed to ask many questions of the Aberdeen defence.

And after the Dons took a late 1-0 lead, Sadiq squandered a golden opportunity to score as he was put through on goal and took a very good touch round the goalkeeper.

It was a bizarre decision from the forward, and the referee showed no hesitation in showing the youngster a yellow card.
