Former Rangers midfielder Josh Windass has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to Celtic fans’ reception to Dedryck Boyata’s return to the team this afternoon.
The 24-year-old, who can operate as a midfielder or a forward and left Rangers for Wigan Athletic in the summer transfer window after two years at Ibrox, seems to be referring to former Celtic striker John Hartson’s valuation of the defender on Twitter in late June.
Boyata has been included in the Celtic starting lineup for their Scottish Premiership game against Hamilton Academical at Celtic Park this afternoon.
The Belgium international central defender has been hitting the headlines in recent days, with The Scottish Sun claiming that his agent has been pushing for a move away from Celtic Park, and that Sevilla want him.
The 27-year-old did not play for Celtic against AEK Athens in the Champions League qualifier earlier this month.
According to BBC Sport, Boyata claimed that he was injured for the match against Athens, but Rodgers said that the defender was fit to play.
The Belgian has started for Celtic this afternoon, but not all fans are happy, with a banner at Celtic Park stating that he is not fit enough to wear the club’s shirt.

Meanwhile, Celtic defender Jozo Simunovic has suggested that the team’s recent bad results are not entirely down to the backline, and that the side need to create more chances.
Simunovic told The Glasgow Evening Times: “We have to create chances, it’s very simple. We can’t score if we don’t create, like if you don’t defend well you will concede. It’s very simple but I think generally we all need to be better.”
