Rangers beat Hamilton Academical 4-1 on Sunday afternoon.
Rangers produced a superb final ten minutes at Hamilton Academical on Sunday as they scored three times to claim a 4-1 victory.
The Gers went into the game with major questions to answer having gone eight months without an away league win, and having thrown away seven points at Aberdeen, Motherwell and Livingston already this term.
Rangers were poor in the first half but took the lead when Ryan Kent was played through on goal, and he lobbed the advancing Gary Woods to make it 1-0.
However, Rangers were pegged back in the second half when Hamilton winger Steven Boyd cut inside and sent a superb strike into the top corner of the net.
It looked as though Rangers were throwing the game away again, but Alex Penny conceded two penalties late on, which James Tavernier converted, before Alfredo Morelos slammed home the fourth into an empty net.
Rangers have ended their long, long wait for an away win, and player past and present reacted to the victory on Twitter yesterday.
Ex-Rangers forward Josh Windass – sold to Wigan Athletic over the summer – joked that the game escalated quickly, as the score went from 1-0 to Rangers to 4-1 within 15 minutes.
Goalscorer Tavernier also reacted, celebrating three more points for Rangers as they moved to fifth in the table, two points behind Celtic and five points off top spot.
