Rangers earned an excellent 2-0 win away at Partick Thistle on Tuesday night.

Rangers goalscorer Josh Windass silenced the doubters with an excellent display at Firhill on Tuesday night, as he opened the scoring in a 2-0 win over Alan Archibald’s side – and he posted on Twitter after the match.
The 24-year-old scored his 11th goal of the season in all competitions by finishing an excellent move from the Gers that saw Wes Foderingham, David Bates, Jason Cummings, Daniel Candeias and Windass all play a part.
He placed a left-footed effort into the top corner from 10 yards out after an inch-perfect low cross from the impressive Candeias, before supplying the assist in the form of a one-two with James Tavernier for the Gers’ second.

Windass had received criticism prior to the match on social media, with fans calling for him to be dropped. But he reacted by putting his finger to his mouth when scoring, before posting his delight at the result.
He also congratulated 26-year-old Andy Halliday after the midfielder returned to feature for the second 45 minutes by replacing Declan John, despite not being included in the squad against Hibernian at the weekend.
Windass has been converted into a striker this season under Graeme Murty, and has thrived on the position change by proving more than prolific in the final third – taking the heat off of Alfredo Morelos.
Rangers fans reacted to Windass’ tweet, confronting their attacking star for his celebration after putting the Gers in the lead. One fan said “a little humility and respect both ways.”
