The Rangers midfielder has become a key player during Graeme Murty’s second Ibrox reign.

Rangers midfielder Josh Windass has posted on Twitter after signing what he describes as a ‘new improved’ contract at Ibrox.
Windass, who had two years left on his existing deal, has now committed to Rangers until 2021.
The 24-year-old has overcome early adversity to become one of Rangers’ key players in his second season at the club and his performances are reported to have attracted interest from other clubs in January.
But Windass – who has started every game during Graeme Murty’s current spell as Ibrox boss and scored 11 goals throughout that time – has told the club’s official website he was ‘never going to leave’.
He added via Twitter afterwards:
Among those to have congratulated Windass on his achievement are teammate Declan John, Ipswich Town’s Martyn Waghorn and Northampton Town’s Matt Crooks, both of whom played alongside the Yorkshireman at Rangers last season.
And the player’s father Dean Windass – the ex-Aberdeen striker – also passed on his congrats, albeit with an ulterior motive…
Windass is the latest Rangers player to sign a new contract this week, after right-back James Tavernier.
