Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have “clearly” made a good signing in Bruno Alves, says his Gers team-mate.
Josh Windass has told The Glasgow Evening Times that Bruno Alves is “clearly a good addition” to Rangers’ playing staff.
The 35-year-old defender was the first of nine new players to be signed by Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha this summer.
In doing so, the Gers recruited a vastly-experienced figure with spells at Porto, Zenit St Petersburg and Fenerbahce under his belt – and some 93 Portugal caps to boot.
Alves is the second-most senior member of Caixinha’s playing staff now, behind Kenny Miller, and Windass says the rest of the team are ready to follow him this season.
“Big Bruno has come in, Jacko [Ryan Jack], Dozza [Graham Dorrans], they have come in and been brilliant,” he told The GET.
“I don’t think [having more leaders in the team] makes a difference. I think it is quality more than leadership to be honest.
“Bruno has played at the highest level of football possible so is clearly going to be a good addition. He has come in and done well and all the lads have followed his lead.”
Rangers kick off their Premiership campaign with a trip to Motherwell on Sunday.
