Rangers warmed up for the Old Firm derby by beating Northern Irish side Linfield 7-0 at Windsor Park on Saturday afternoon.
The Gers remain unbeaten in the Scottish Premiership having won two and drawn two of their opening four games, but decided to play Jamie Mulgrew’s testimonial as something of a warm-up for their huge Old Firm clash with Celtic next weekend.

Very few of Mark Warburton’s side have left for international duty, meaning it was the perfect opportunity for Rangers to keep their fitness up with a clash against David Healy’s Linfield.
Rangers coasted to a win and were 5-0 up by half time, with Kenny Miller striking a first-half hat-trick alongside goals from Niko Kranjcar and Rob Kiernan.
The Gers made it 7-0 in the second half to press home their superiority, as Miller got his fourth of the game before new signing Joe Garner rounded off the scoring with his first goal in a Rangers shirt.

Winning a testimonial match 7-0 won’t strike fear into Celtic, but manager Warburton will be pleased to see some injured players feature in the game ahead of next weekend’s match.
Two players who needed the game time were Josh Windass and Martyn Waghorn, who have been dealing with injuries in the first few weeks of the new season – and they both took to Twitter after the final whistle on Saturday.
Windass admitted it was great to be back on the pitch after a frustrating start to his career at Ibrox, whilst Waghorn echoed those sentiments by commenting on his return to action in Saturday’s win.
