Sheffield Wednesday’s Josh Onomah was on loan at Steve Bruce’s Aston Villa last season.

Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Josh Onomah has told The Express & Star that it will be strange for him to play against Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon.

Onomah spent the 2017-18 campaign on loan at Villa from Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.

The 21-year-old midfielder moved to Wednesday on a season-long loan deal from Spurs in the summer transfer window.

The England Under-21 international midfielder is likely to feature for the Owls in their Championship game against Villa away from home at Villa Park this afternoon.

Onomah – who earns £30,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com – has admitted that it will be strange for him to play against his former club Villa.

“It will be strange going there because I have never played against a former club before,” Onomah told The Express & Star. “I’m excited and hopefully I can play a part in the game. I learned a lot at Villa last season.”

Onomah made 20 starts and 14 substitute appearances in the Championship for Villa last season, scoring four goals and providing three assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
