Josh Onomah admits frustration at lack of opportunities at Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur have loaned Josh Onomah to Aston Villa for the rest of the season.

Josh Onomah has told the Birmingham Mail that he didn’t get as many opportunities as he was hoping for at Tottenham Hotspur last season.

Onomah is regarded as one of Spurs’ brightest up-and-coming talents, but Mauricio Pochettino did not pick him regularly for Tottenham’s first-team last season.

The 20-year-old made just 12 appearances across all competitions for Tottenham last term, with his chances very limited.

However, since moving to Villa on loan, Onomah has started to feature far more regularly.

Onomah has already made 16 appearances for Villa this campaign, and his performances have impressed.

The youngster is certainly enjoying his time in the spotlight, and feels he is learning a lot from Steve Bruce.

“Last season I did not play as much as I would have liked,” Onomah admitted.

“This season I am playing and enjoying it.

“The gaffer is always talking to me, being positive with me.

“A manager like that, who played in the Premier League and had a good career, it’s good to learn from him.”

Onomah is set to spend the rest of the season at Villa, and Spurs will be hoping he remains a key player for Bruce’s side.

Onomah’s strong form has helped Villa climb up the Championship table in recent weeks into fourth place.
